Techies & Bacon?

This post is a little off the mark when compared to the blogs I’ve published previously, but it had to be done.

I subscribe to a lot of Technology magazines, blogs and newsletters…the list goes on.  Within all of the platforms that I read a common theme always pops up; BACON.  I’m not going to lie, I’m more of a sausage person myself, but I do enjoy the occasional strip of bacon.

Don’t get me wrong, I understand the general population loves bacon, I just didn’t realize how much.  I am thoroughly amazed by the different kinds of bacon-esque products available in today’s consumer market. Below are a few of the more interesting/weird bacon-y products I’ve encountered and where you can purchase them.

Personal Hygiene Bacon Products

1. Bacon Mints: Don’t fret! You can brush your teeth after breakfast and then pop a bacon mint. This way your teeth are clean but you can keep the taste and smell of breakfast lingering all day.

2. Bacon Soap: Yes, you read it correctly, Bacon Soap. It is soap that smells like, well, bacon.  So suds up and get ready to smell like freshly fried oinker strips.

3. Bacon Lip Balm: Ladies, looking for a new way to peak your beau’s interest? Look no further, bacon lip balm. We all know the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach – so why not fake his stomach out and get what you want quicker by slapping some Bacon Balm on your lips?

4. Bacon Flavored Floss: Does the flavor of mint burn your gums when you floss? The solution, Bacon Flavored Floss.  It’s like you’re pretending that the bacon bits are still stuck in your teeth.

5. Bacon  Flavored Vodka: I know Vodka isn’t something that normally comes up under the category of personal hygiene but, a drink a day keeps the doctor away? Oh, right that’s an apple. Well, if you were hiking a desolate trail alone and you gashed  your arm really bad and needed to clean it but the only thing you have on you is Bacon Flavored Vodka…I think you’d be set.  Don’t try that though.

1. Baconnaise: Cheese spread & Crackers, No. Olive Spread & Crackers, no way. Bacon Spread & Crackers, yes please?

2. Bacon Chocolate Bar: People who love chocolate, are obsessive.  Sometimes they’re called; choc-o-holics. Apparently people who love bacon are as well. I suppose we could call them bac-o-holics.  So that means that people who love chocolate as much as they love bacon could be considered choco-bac-o-holics.

3.  The Bacon Maple Bar: No, the Bacon Maple Bar is not a different flavor of the soap mentioned earlier. It’s a doughnut.  I’m sure that if people will wash their bodies with the scent of bacon they’d be glad to eat it on a pastry. The Bacon Maple Bar was created and is exclusively sold b the doughnut shamans at the Portland, Oregon doughnut shop Voodoo Donuts.

4. Maple Bacon Lollipops: Forget typical flavors like red or purple….Oh wait, I mean cherry or grape.  Now their’s Bacon Lollipops! When the bacon mint doesn’t do your salivary glands justice anymore, just suck on one of these babies.

5. Bacon Beans: If you love jelly beans and you’re sick of sticking your hand in the bag and wondering what flavor it will be….then Bacon Beans are for you. Oh did I mention that you have to love jelly beans and have an immense passion for bacon too?
